Facilities and services

Accommodation:

Harley House offers both single and double bedroom accommodation, some of which have en-suite facilities. The property has three levels, all offering comfortable, homely rooms. All rooms are tastefully decorated to enhance the cosy atmosphere of the home. We have a beautiful garden which residents can sit in, weather permitting. We have 2 tastefully decorated lounges and one sun lounge which snug seating areas to provide opportunities for moments of quiet relaxation. We also have a large dining room in which to enjoy the varied, delicious meals provided. There is also a meal tray service to rooms, if required.

For the resident to feel more welcome, we offer the opportunity to bring personal furniture with you to complete your experience if you so wish and rooms can be re-decorated to their own liking, selecting from a wife choice of colour schemes. Lifts are provided between floors, there are TVs, video and sound systems in the lounges and colour televisions in the bedrooms.

Relatives and friends of the residents are encouraged to visit and there are no restrictions on visiting hours. The manager keeps in regular contact with relatives and is always available to discuss any problems or concerns that may arise.

Meals:

We aim to provide meals that are attractive and nutritious, meet any cultural requirements of residents and which satisfy their dietary needs. Nutritional needs are closely monitored and any problems referred to a GP or dietician. The meals served are: breakfast; dinner; tea; supper. These can be taken in the dining room, or the residents lounge but they may be taken in the privacy of your own room when it is desirable to do so. Assistance is given by care staff to those who have difficulty in feeding themselves. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served in the lounges or bedrooms.

Trial periods:

When a resident moves in, they have one month built into their occupancy agreement to decide whether "this is the place for them". This first month then provides an opportunity for staff to get to know the individual resident and their family, and to identify their preferred ways of living. During this period the person’s care and support requirements are also assessed and discussed and developed into an agreed plan.
